Angela Manning

Angela is passionate about her creative lineage, which began with her Grandmother Dorothy, a Methodist and Renaissance woman who nurtured the people around her by designing their clothes and costumes, making glorious meals from scratch, and sculpting the joyous pursuits God inscribed on her grandchildren’s hearts atop birthday cakes. Drawn to visual mediums and the music of language, Angela has shared the gifts of the spoken and written word with her students. She is currently allowing God to flow through her on a novel and as the administrative assistant for Braden River United Methodist Church. Angela enjoys mixing media, incorporating various modalities, knowing that the Holy Spirit communicates through poetry and that stories are what unify us. As Jewel sings in the song “Hands,” our fresh expression will accomplish thy will, connecting our powerful, individual stories into a much larger story about discovery, triumphs, and miracles.
